Tree of Life / O Ambelos

The Ampelos is an iconic representation of the following verse from the Gospel of John:

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit; for without me, you can do nothing.” – John 15:5.

All twelve of Christ’s Disciples are seated in the branches of the vine around Christ, Who is in the center. Above Christ, you can also see the Holy Spirit and God the Father depicted, completing the Holy Trinity.
