Holy Tradition

This study focuses on the vital role of Holy Tradition within the life of the Orthodox Church. Special attention is given to how Holy Tradition serves as the common font of the shared spiritual and liturgical life, as well as the theological teachings, that unite all Orthodox as one.

Topics such as ‘Christ as the Core of Holy Tradition’, ‘Tradition as the Life of the Holy Spirit in the Church’, ‘Tradition as Personal Participation’, ‘Holy Tradition and Holy Scripture’ and the proper relationship between Tradition and ethnic customs are discussed.

Based on Holy Scripture and patristic teaching, this study refers to the writings of a wide variety of Orthodox theologians, especially from Eastern European backgrounds.
