Katie Visits a Monastery

On a warn fall weekend in 1995 an 11 year old girl named Katie visited a monastery of the Eastern Orthodox Church. This is the first time she has even been to an Orthodox monastery. In this book Katie tells the story of her visit and she shared her thoughts and feelings about monastic life as she sees it practiced.

Because there are relatively few Orthodox monastic houses outside of the traditional Orthodox countries of Greece, Russia, Serbia, Syria, Lebanon etc, Orthodox children growing up today in the western world rarely have an opportunity such as Katie’s.
