From the General Notes for the Teacher

One of the most important ministries of the Church is to instruct and nurture individuals in the faith and teaching of Jesus Christ and in the Tradition of the Orthodox Church. For this purpose the Church calls teachers to participate in that very important ministry which stands at the center of the Church’s life, and its Christian education. Church’s purpose is to study and interpret Christian life and direct it through the perspective of Christ and His Gospel so that it may be lived in the service of others and to the glory of God.
