Modern Orthodox Saints 11: Blessed Elder Philotheos Zervakos

Archimandrite Philotheos Zervakos (1884-1980) had served for fifty years as Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Longovarda and was for decades, Greece’s foremost Confessor and Spiritual Guide.
Mother Philothei, Abbess of the Convent of Panagia Mytidiotissa at Thapsana, Paros, spoke with the author about Blessed Philotheos. Like the monks of Longovarda, she stated that the sainthood of Father Philotheos was something beyond any doubt. It was testified by his character, his way of life, by what he daily said and did and the miracles that took place at the Convent following his death.
